• Third Annual Warmth for Seniors Drive

    November 19, 2017
  • Did you know winter is one of the most dangerous seasons for seniors? The elderly population is more vulnerable to extreme cold and has a higher risk for experiencing issues such as hypothermia and frostbite. Seniors often have a lower body temperature as well, due to a lack of mobility and other health conditions. Due to their increased risks, it’s important for seniors to be prepared for when temperatures dip.

Central Indiana in-home healthcare leader United Home Healthcare (UHHC) is pleased to be able to spearhead the annual Warmth for Seniors socks and blanket drive and help area seniors stay cozy during the winter months. Between now and December 8, 2017, the UHHC team will be collecting donations of new socks and blankets. The donations collected will be delivered to seniors throughout metro Indianapolis.

The collection drive is in partnership with CICOA Aging & In-Home Solutions, Indy Plus Realty Group and PrimePay. Anyone wishing to donate new blankets or socks may drop their items off at the UHHC Office at 7212 N. Shadeland Ave., Suite 100, Indianapolis, Indiana 46250.

    Your Donations Make a Difference

“Socks and blankets may seem like such simple items, but to a senior in need they mean everything,” said Byron Harris, CEO of United Home Healthcare. “Each year our entire United Home Healthcare team gets so excited about this event, because we know what a difference it makes for our seniors. We’re honored to have some great partners walking alongside us to bring the event to life.”
